Calendar 2025 4/13/2025Hoist bay. 5/5/2025Back at the lake for another summer. 5/5/2025Everything looks to be in good order. I'll do a more thorough inspection tomorrow. 5/6/2025The carport tarp did not survive the winter. 5/6/2025The swing under the porch is another casualty. This is destine for the burn pile. 5/8/2025The old tarp is gone. It lasted 8 years so no complaints. The question now is: do we really need this carport at all? 5/9/2025What a sad end for this swing. I enjoyed building it back in 2011 but it never did get much use. 5/10/2025I hope the Roomba is hungry for Asian beetle carcases. 5/11/2025This is unexpected for the middle of May. 5/13/2025First hummingbird (that I was able to photograph). 5/14/2025Biennial maintenance on outboard motor: change oil and oil filter, replace spark plugs, replace oil in lower unit and grease zerk fittings. 5/17/2025This is a big item off my to-do list. Next is the boat. 5/18/2025Motor on the boat and the boat is in the water. Thanks to Rich Halverson for some much needed help with the motor. 5/18/2025A little late this year but the ducks are finally in the water. I'm down to just two. 5/21/2025A new set of bumpers and cleats in anticipation of a second boat. 5/22/2025First fishing trip with Burney. It's not a BIG bass but it is a bass. Let the games begin. 5/26/2025My first bass of the season. 5/26/2025Rob, Terri and Riley arrive with the new boat. 5/27/2025The porch pine is looking pretty sad. 5/27/2025I doubt the hummingbirds care. I think they just want a spot close to the feeder to wait for their turn. 5/28/2025The new boat has been launched and is ready to catch some fish. 5/31/2025Preparing the deck for staining. I just did this two years ago. I wish now I had used some Trex-like boards instead of wood. 5/31/2025Rob & Terri got a bunch new perennials for around the cabin. 6/1/2025Phase 1 of deck staining done. Still to do is 3' there on the south side and every other stair. Post Views: 335
